Poly Synth

I created a polyphonic synth in max, here are some recordings and how i did it. problems i encountered different approaches.

The bulk of the synth scavenged from my previous software emulation of the SOMA Rumble Of Ancient Times, though that synth makes use of much more complex FM algorithms.

Initially I created a version using Max’s poly~ device but it to be quite unreliable and was having issues with it so decided to recreate with the mc. (multichannel devices) what also allowed me to have more control with elements such as panning down the line. its entirely possible to use this synth with a multichannel setup with each voice on an individual speaker.

Here are some examples of the device in use. Sorry for the poor recording, it was easier to just record my laptops external speaker but it does mean there’s some noise.
